How long would it take to drive this distance? Assume you're going 60 miles per hour.
If I want to know how long it takes to travel 1000 miles at 60 miles per hour, I would use the formula: distance = rate x time
1000 = 60 x time
/60 /60
16.67 hours = time
Could someone explain how to get the answer because I have to do ten more of these.. I mean i know how you take 1000 dived 60 gets 16.67 but how do you get the time.
My other questions is
The distance between the sun and Mercury is approximately: 36,000,000 miles how would i get this answer because i have to write it in scientific notation...
Could anyone please help me thanks..

You know what you're doing, just take it a step further:
7,500,000,000 / 60 = 125,000,000 hrs
125,000,000hrs / 24hrs in a day = 5,208,333.33 days
5,208,333.33days / 365days per year = 14,269.41 years

If you haven't noticed, 16.67 HOURS is the TIME to go 1000 miles. Now all you have to do is stick 7.5 billion miles in place of 1000 miles and come up with another time.
Get a book on scientifc notation. The answer is 3.6x10^7 miles.
