Often times stress is caused by overcrowding, poor water condition or having the wrong species together. If none of these are the case aquarium salt adds electrolytes to the water and can reduce stress as can the product stress coat purchased at any fish/pet store. Best of luck to you.

When they say fish are stressed, it isn't because they didn't pay a bill or couldn't figure out what was for dinner.
Stressed means an environmental or preaditor issue. Keeping your fish as close to what they had in nature, keeping the water quality up, without large flux's in temps or ph, feeding twice a day, lighting 12 hours a day or as required by the fish you have , good water flow and oxygen will keep them at a stress free level.
Also, keeping foreign items out of the tank, salts, chemicals etc will keep them healthier longer.

My, the poor thing. Be nice and stop yelling at him/her or around the fish. Do not let fish see you depressed. Put a t.v. or radio by him when you leave so he will not feel so alone. Be careful if you buy fish a friend because friend may eat fish. If friend eats fish, fish will be dead and gone and friend will have a belly ache and you will have to start the process over again. Kiss fish good morning, good by, and tuck him in at night. I do have more suggestions if you need. Give fish a hug for me.

fish yoga. Besides, how can you tell if a fish is stressed? Are their gills frazzled? Drink too much Fishbucks?
Sprinkle some Prozac in the water.

Your fish shouldn't be stressed if the tank parameters are perfect, they are not overcrowded, their tankmates are congenial, they are fed regularly, and there are sufficient plants in the tank.

you should take your fish for walks and let it hit the weights, that burns the stress right off.
