I've seen several posts asking why congress hasn's miraculously turned America around in 6 months, changing everything.

That's not how congress works, or ever has worked. It's always been a pretty painstakingly slow process, with a few rare exceptions.

Is this the reason they support the ideas they support? They don't have a clue what they are talking about?

Or did they cange the rules and I didn't get the memo?

every democratic congressman I noticed said they wanted to set time tables, not stop the war?

so the vast majority are doing exactly what they said they would?

I fear "slow and stop" are, according to the rules, about the only speed it can run

being a do nothing congress during a time of war is not justified by the fact the congress has a past history of having two speeds---slow and stop.

Dem majority hair thin, and legislation has to be written so that they can get enough Rep to cross over, and to maintain that Rep support when pres signs veto.
They have written and passed much legislation, much ends up in committee.
They have done great number of hearings
They have implemented all of 9/11 Commission Report's recommendations re border security, etc.
Their regular work week is now 5 days instead of 3.

70% of US pop want us out of Iraq, and Rep's looking at 08 know they are going to have to cut and run.
Watch CSPAN for non-edited truth
all Americans should be po'd after watching:

They seem to understand it well enough to know how to manipulate it and keep the good times rolling for the wealthy.

If there were a real method for change in this present government, I'm sure Bush's lawyers would have all the angles covered.

That is one clear reason his supporters fired the less than friendly US Attorneys. This will keep any others from stepping up and taking action against criminals like Randy Cunningham. God knows there are a whole lot more out there like him!

The congress cannot change much when it's so busy usurping the executive branch. Fortunately, since they are owned by the same people who control the judicial and media branch, knowledge of the Constitution won't get in their way, and we shall all be governed under the blessings of the Vanguard of the Proletariat quite soon.

Unless they lose to their allies, the Islamo-Fascists....

The issue is not with results, but with effort. Almost every democrat in congress claims to oppose the war. Of those that make that claim, almost all of them voted to keep the war going. That doesn't make sense in any culture. That's why I only respect one democrat that's in congress right now. I disagree with him, but I respect him.
