It should be set up by experts in the field.

doctors, hospital administrators, managers from the VA, social security execitives., etc. Keep it away from congress!!!
Ever been to a zoo? What is a camel? A camel is a race horse designed by a congressional committee. We would need a race horse, not a camel.

Well, you will no longer be able to sue doctors, since you are not paying for a service. That means quality will go down. Probably quickly.
The nation will also learn very swiftly that universal health coverage does not equate to universal access to health care.

The United States is the only industrialized nation that does not guarantee access to health care as a right of citizenship. 28 industrialized nations have single payer universal health care systems.

its a monumental task to switch over to universal healthcare but it will be nothing like social security. Think what you pay in health insurance right now, take a third of that for yourself and put 2/3rds into universal healthcare tax. you take home more money and everyone, including grampa and your great grandchildren will never have to worry.

We had a chance to fix social security forever, Bush decided to give it to the rich folks. Al Gore's "lockbox" wouldn't be the butt of so many jokes today.

Universal Healthcare is not the answer. Who do you think will be paying for this and who will be using it? We do not need the government meddling with our medical needs. Reduce taxes, abolish social security, and let us have the right to choose our own plans and make our own plans.
