Nicole Richie....biracial. black, or white?

Question

I think Nicole Richie is probably biracial or black. My husband says "no way", she is white. What do you think?
Lionel is not her birth dad, so you can't go by that.

Nicole Richie was born "Nicole Camille Escovedo" in Berkeley, California. According to an April 2006 Tatler magazine interview with Richie, her biological father was a drummer who worked with Lionel Richie; her biological mother was a backstage assistant for Lionel. It is rumored that her biological father is musician Pete Escovedo (brother of musician Sheila E.), but Richie denied this in a November 2005 interview with Jane magazine. When Nicole was two, Lionel and his wife Brenda Harvey-Richie informally adopted her and raised her as their daughter. When she was nine, they went through the legal formalities of the adoption; she still speaks with her biological mother. Richie says of her heritage that she is a "mix of everything", but when asked, she just says she is black.

She is Biracial but just for easier identity she tells people she is Black. If you saw the first season of " The Simple Life" when she and Paris stayed with the Black Baptist minister and his family, the children of the family were dancing in the kitchen and Nicole got up to join them. Paris says that she wishes she had more rhythm. Nicole says that she has it because she is Black. If your husband still doubts you below is the link for Nicole's info on Wikipedia. She's considered multi-racial. Her claim of being black stems from being raised by black parents (adoptive).

She's 1/4 black, 1/4 mexican (father's side), 1/2 white (mother's side)

Lionel Richie and his wife informally adopted her.

Her biological parents were Peter Michael Escovedo, a member of Lionel Richie's band and brother to '80s pop percussionist Sheila E., and an "anonymous" backstage assistant (known to be full caucasian).

Nicole Richie is bi-racial. Her birth dad is one of the other members of Lionel's band The Commodores.

Here's the question of the day. What's on her birth certificate? Doesn't matter if her father is black and her mother is white. Whatever is written on her birth cert, that's her nationality unless of course it's wrong then they'll have to jump through hoops to try to get it changed. Ok, prime example. Tiger Woods. Most blacks consider Tiger Woods to be black. What do I think? Tiger Woods looks black at a distance, but he has Asian features. Still is he black? According to Tiger he's not. He's black, white, and Asian. So to answer your question, I've seen her and she looks white to me. Doesn't really matter to me to be honest. Here's the question I wanna know. Do you think she'll go out with me?

No actually she is Puerto rican. I am seriuos. Nicole Richie was born "Nicole Camille Escovedo" in Berkeley, California. Her real dad is the brother of Sheila E. Her dad was a close friend of Lionel Riche & his wife. Lionel & his wife loved Nicole & when she was a toddler they asked if they can adopt her. They were very hesitant at first, b/c they didn't want to give up their child, but they knew she would live a good life. Now Nicole claims that she is 'black' but that is b/c she considers Lionel as her real Dad.

She is infact bi-racial & has stated so in interviews. Her father was a member of the Commadores w/ Lionel Ritchie & her mother (a white woman, & if I am not mistaken a "rodie") was shorthly involved with him & the end result was Nicole. It was a bad situation & Lionel decided to adopt her as a young young child.
