Absolutely not. I vote for the candidate who is strong on the issues that are important to me. Doesn't matter what party they belong to.
Last state elections,my votes were split between Democrat and Republican.

Since republicans now march in lockstep with the far right if I don't care for the Democrat I leave it blank.
Used to vote for who I thought was the better but until the far rights grip is broken I refuse to help any republican. Detrimental one could say but I say I will not give any support in any form to these neo-cons.PERIOD.
They'll have to clean their own house up.

Personally, I had never voted before, because I felt we were just shuffling around a lot of people who promised all sorts of things only to get our votes.

This year, though because I feel our current leader is out of touch with most of America, and apparently seems to only care about his own personal agenda (and some of the corporations that fund him and or give him bribes) I have been paying attention to politics.

I read Obama's "The Audacity of Hope" and it inspired me-I feel there may actually be hope for our country if this man is elected. He listens to the middle class and poor of our country (who make up the majority) and seems to genuinely care about our welfare and wants to unite our country. He also does not take money from lobbyists (he refused $50,000 a couple weeks ago when he found out it was from a lobbyist group)

For the first time ever I registered to vote (I am 27) and plan on voting for him. (I registered as having no party, because I believe you should vote for the person you think will do the best job, regardless of party)

If you want to know more about the issues he supports (I personally like all of his suggestions, but there will be people who have a disagreement with one or two of his ideas) go to BarackObama.com or read his book "The Audacity of Hope" and do your own research on him, beyond the media (the media likes to spin things on either side to make people look good or bad and to sell more newspapers or get higher ratings)

And if you like what you see, join the growing movement for a better government!

I usually split my ticket, because of candidates agendas and how they stand on issues, most people don't have time to study all this so they vote along party lines, women usually vote on looks, blacks always vote for blacks without any regard for issues and senior citizens always vote for candidates who help them

I'm willing to bet 90% of voters just vote along party lines. It's a sad statement of the current state of democracy today.

The personal qualification of the candidate is the main factor for voting and must not be the party affiliation.
