,You've hit the proverbial nail on the head....
We are FREE Americans. The funny thing is, those who so disrespectfully present an idiotic, missleading & U.S.A. destructive public face to the world do us all an injustice (putting down anything they can to self glorify). They have the right to....I would fight for them to have such. However, the rest of us have got to quit hiding in fox holes, allowing only the voices of the racists like Sharpton to hold the public's attention. We are only FREE because brave men and women stood for morals.
We can't deny our laxity in teaching our children (we're all a bit guilty) but we should all start teaching by example TODAY!
God Bless the U.S.A.

No, I don't.
If you wish to interpret "patriotism" and just blindly going along and supporting any decision by this administration, not questioning anything, that is your choice.
If someone else chooses to questions something, they should not be branded as "traitors."
I don't make chimp jokes or alter photos into unflattering avatars. Any child can do that.
But as regards the word "respect" (not just for our country), many of your postings display NO respect at all, and then you wonder why people respond in a low-ball fashion. You post to "entertain" yourself, and then complain about the responses.
I don't worry too much about the word "patriot."
I like my country.
I prefer to reserve the word "love" for my wife and family.
I like its natural beauty; the rivers and streams. I hate to see that beauty spoiled by other uncaring people.
There's a rule followed by people who venture into the wilderness, and that's to "leave it like you found it." Leave no trace that you were there. That, perhaps, is "loving" my country. Keep it wild and pure for the next voyageur.
I "love" my country in the sense that I extend love and benevolence to those who have less than I do; people in homeless shelters due to a fire or some natural disaster, or perhaps because they were victims of abuse.
I would encourage YOU to exercise some "respect" here, and be a better example of a Christian - something else to which you make reference.

But we aren't the laughing stock of the world, we're the least liked. I mean, maybe they laugh in that sort of sad way, but not at all jokingly.
In fact, I think that the rest of the world want to see the people of America disagree with the government, as the foreign policies of the current administration have distanced many allies.

NO
I never laugh at people with disabilities. Or at people that have been injured.
That base behavior is not what Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount. It is more akin to Hate Radio.

Do you remember how the Republican Congress and many on your side treated Clinton....You treated him like crap because you disagreed with him on a personal issue. Now when the current president actually involves us in a war that at best is an act of national selfishness and is killing hundreds of thousands and destroying our country's reputation (or proving that we a warmongering bunch of barbarians)...we are picking on poor Bush. You are a partisan troll
Patriotism is loving Freedom and other Americans...I'd love you too if you weren't on a mission to destroy our Constitution and people like me. Why the heck would a self respecting Conservative want a more powerful Executive branch?

Your right you are the laughing stock of the world and that soley because of one man Bush sometimes it takes a bigger man to accept his mistakes and admit being wrong so we will see what Bush is really made of when it comes to withdrawing the troops I personally dont think he has it in him to say I was wrong.

Is a Patriot and an Insurgent the same thing....just in a different country and with a different aggressor and set of circumstances?

I am a patriot because I search for the truth and want justice. 9/11 was an inside job carried out by elements within the U.S government.

do you have any clue what the world is actually laughing at?
I'll let you in on the apparent secret... Bush's total inadequacy to govern the nation...
ever looked at what other nations say about Bush?
ever see how Republicans say "who cares what the world thinks"?
if you're worried about being a laughing stock to the world, it's about 5 years too late...
of course, in reality, you don't care what the world thinks... if you did, conservaitve policies would be drastically different... so please, don't hide behind the world, when you clearly don't care...

I agree; most of the people who call themselves Patriots, more than likely haven't read or understood the US Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Respectively, it is our rights as citizens to challenge the government, when the opportunity avails; its called voting and holding forums.
