I'd suggest that you ask the vendor who sold you Vista to give you XP instead.

Vista is known to be a problem. Lots of complaints and requests for assistance on this can be seen here and in other forums nowadays. Seems that most device drivers don't work on Vista either.

All the best.

you should have done more research, into vista it is not all it is made out to be,,, to many bugs in it and not many hardware drivers come with it.. that is what seem to be your problem here. now you can't take Vista back to the store,,, they won't accept it back opened,

you have a choice here what do you do about it?

(1) contact Microsoft support and tell them about your hardware problem, and see if they can sort it out

(2) Dump Vista and move over to linux Windows. download a live cd/dvd copy. boot it and run it from the cd/dvd.

you can run all the programs from the cd/dvd. and learn it, you can even get on the Internet running off the cd/dvd disk,

Check Linux out for your own sake, it is free to download, you will get every bit of software you will ever need, all free.

the easiest linux to learn is ubuntu. I have used this on many systems with no problems, it will find all your hardware you can download the 32 bit system or the 64 bit system the choice is yours
