3/8x=27. Remember, you can do something to one side of an equation as long as you do the SAME thing to the other side. So, for ex., if I add 4 to one side and 4 to the other, it doesn't change the equation. How do you get one side to just be simply x? What happens if you multiply a fraction by its inverse? Say. . . 3/8 times 8/3? You would cancel out the 8s and cancel out the 3s. What remains is 1 and you would have x on the left side of the equation. Now, remember, what you do to one side, you have to do to the other. Multiply 27 by 8/3. Does 3 go into 27/1? Multiplying 8/3 and 27/1 (which is just 27 right?), the 27 is just 9x3, right? So, the 3 turns into 1 while the 27 turns into 9. You have 9/1 times 8/1=72. The answer is 72.
3/8x=27. . . . .. (8/3)3/8x = 27 (8/3). . . .x = 27/1 (8/3). Multiply and get the answer for yourself and CHECK if it fits.
Good luck!
