That is where we really have to take shelter of God. There are many people out there who are just plain ignorant to Gods colorful world. They don't understand that we are not this body, IE race, color, nationality, religion, job, etc. We are eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. God has many names but He is one. We are all his Children and in reality we are all related but that is a stretch for many to accept. But it is the truth. So we can just pray for those souls who have not yet evolved their consciousness to higher truths. God Bless. Thank you for covering your hair it is a poper thing to do.You are just more pious than most.

First of all I'm sorry that you had to go through that. I don't agree with brushing things like that off. Because if one is not punished or aware of the hurt they caused then growing from that situation will never happen. But I would have said "ignorance is not a good look for you."

wow.. damn, as much as I know racism exists in this country I've never actually been insulted to my face just because of my race ( I mean besides that senile old woman but I kinda forgave coz she had Alzheimer's but that's another story..)
Sorry boo. The only advice I could give you is "brush your shoulders off" ,rejoice in the fact that you're a much better person than those idiots.
If a person calls you a name just give them a big smile and say " yes I am and I'm lovin' it"...that usually shuts them up.

It's alright. There's ALWAYS going to be people who are like that. People will always talk this and that. As an asian person, I know how it feels to be insulted and be classified with derogatory stereotypes and such. But it doesn't get to me as I know what and who I am and that no one can tell me who I really am but me.

Always remember,

Great minds discuss ideas
Average minds discuss events
Small minds discuss people

Good luck! Keep your head up high

Don't worry about it. Your being the bigger person by not responding to it. Just remember that alot of people are cruel and don't understand what their insults can do to someone. As long as you think your pretty thats all that should matter and the rest is just life...

Once in some town in Latin America this white man began some diatribe and came closer to me and put his arm around me and said...-I won't even let one of those (talking of the Indians) clean my bathrooms-. Looking to me to second him and act like I'm one (a white man) too, Seeking some sort of refuge and companerism. I never even bothered to tell him that my wife was one of those... (Indians) and so too is my daughter and actually I am honored to wash their bathrooms.

Stand up to them. Confront them. You are welcome here. Racists are not. Here you have the right to be free, to practice your beliefs in peace without fear of repression.

This is one of the founding principles of this country. So celebrate your freedom. Practice your beliefs with pride. Do not let a few small minded ignorant racists steal your peace.

All I can say is, it happens.

I'm Jewish and I get it a lot. Things like, don't steal from me, you Jew...or You should've been killed in one of those Nazi ovens...I know how it feels.
Probably not at the same depth, but still.

And unfortunately there are close-minded people who will never learn and never change. Hopefully we can forgive their ignorance.

Why do you, or any people bother wasting their time on, excuse me, dumb, or stupid people like that, you're wasting your energy, and all people who think about situations like this one.

Ignore it.
racists want you to get upset so they can prove that you are less civilized.
