Forget it dude,he's an actor and people will just say it's nothing, what they don't want to admit is that he's a loose cannon waiting to explode, maybe not with his daughter but with someone else, and then these same persons will say,why didn't our society see this coming

I didn't know anyone but Alec Baldwin was trying to justify it. As a parent I have experienced some pretty extreme anger toward my children, but I have always avoided name calling. That just seems to be too much. But I can sympathize with anger--being a parent is hard! I screw up all the time!

I will not be the judge, jury and executioner for this man! Most parents have a shameful moment that they wouldn't want captured on audiotape, videotape or any other tape. For some of us it might not be that extreme, but, we the public have no clue as to what is going on behind the scenes. I find it equally disgusting that Kim Basinger released this tape. The publicity over this incident will do far more damage to their child than a nasty rant on her cellphone.

Tape anyone's conversation with their child and broadcast the bad parts to the world and you'll have tons of Alec Baldwins. Everyone has at one time or another said things to his kids he shouldn't--it's hard to throw the first stone.
Does the media have nothing else to do but harp on this?

Kids can really wind you up.
Went a bit over the top.
I think he'd been into the booze and started rehashing stuff in his head. Then made the mistake of making the call when he was pissed instead of waiting till next day, when he would have regained his senses.

Yes I can. I'm a divorced dad of the worlds greatest son. My ex-wife knows how to piss me off by keeping my son away from me. Sometimes you just lose it, BEcause you love them so much. He shouldn't have yelled at his daughter, has he should his ex-wife. Divorced dads have to stand up for there rights and it's not fair. It's very stressful and sad.

Please - as if you're parents haven't said something similar to you!! All parents make mistakes - why should he be raked over the coals for that when there are people verbally, sexually and emotionally abusing their children in America every single second of every single day... there are far more important parenting issues to be discussed than a bloody baldwin!

Justify?? You don't..Understand that everyone is emotionally involved ablsoutely. He has passion in his beliefs and for the record, you don't know what is going on behind the scenes in his privated life and you can't believe what hollywood gosspi and news media reports. You can't really judge him or anyone else unless you saw it from day one with your own eyes

Everyone is capable of losing their temper and saying something stupid. Was it right? no. Does it make him a bad dad? We don't have enough information to make that call and it doesn't say anything by itself. On the other hand, Kim deliberately released the tape and publically humiliated her daughter - now that should be criminal.
