True Americans don't give up or turn their back on the servicemen and women serving our country. They need our support and need to know they are fighting to win and beat the Islamic terroists who are certainly there in Iraq. Heck yeah I want us to win because if we turn tail and run away it will give the wrong image to the rest of the world that we are weak and give up easy. That's just what the terroists want or can't anybody else see that? Have we all forgotten about how our nation was attacked? Don't you think we owe it to our servicemen and women to support them and pull for the USA to come out the winner? I think if not, then you are a traitor and a disgrace.

This is the same lame argument the hawks used in Viet Nam, and it is just as stupid today as it was then. What can be won in Iraq, you Bush League ideologue?

Can the United States stop terrorists by occupation? Israel actually lives in their war zone, and their entire population must work like helots to keep back the tide of jihadist crazies. What can we do by sending an inadequate number of troops? Nothing can be won there but Purple hearts.

How can we win any peace when the population wants us to leave? Like Viet Nam, there is no direction to run in when the **** hits the fan because the enemy is everywhere. There is simply no way to identify the enemy until he is shooting us, and that gives them the advantage if all they want is to take us with them.

I wish there was something we could win in Iraq. I wish that I was wrong, and there was a possibility that something could be salvaged from the carnage. Just tell me what it could be?

And as for your question, grow up. "Have you stopped beating your wife lately?" is old hat. If the American people are going to save the institutions that make us a democracy, the first thing we need to restore is the right to debate issues in a civil way, and the right to disagree without vilification.

You Republicans haven't yet understood that your behaviour is why you lost the Congress. Unless you drop the partisan garbage and work for the entire nation you will lose the White House as well. We are less worried about liberal overspending than we are about Bush League visciousness.

Irritate us enough and we will elect Senator Clinton, simply because that is what you would hate the most. Don't ignore us, or we will make you sorry.

This question screams "Trollbait", but whatever, let's play.
No one in their right mind wants the United States to "lose" in Iraq. This shouldn't even be a question, much less a driving issue that keeps coming up again and again. The consequences of the United States leaving an unstable Iraq behind are staggeringly horrible. This isn't a question of whether or not the US should be there in the first place, the fact of the matter is that the US is there now, and has broken the country and must now bear the responsibility of fixing it. Every death from now until the violence stops, American and Iraqi alike, is on the heads of those who supported this War, regardless of political affiliation -- especially those who could have stopped it in it's tracks and rolled over and let it happen.
The question we should be asking is this -- how in the world can the region be stabilized, and what can be done to bring it about, and most importantly, once the dust settles, what can be done to ensure that the United States is never again duped into waging a war of aggression based on deception and hyperbole.

Lol win what? A war? You are out of your tiny little mind. It works in the United States favour that there is civil war in Iraq because the country remains weak and in its weakened state it makes the divying up of their oil all the more easier. There is nothing to win it is not that type of war. The US want the oil and the Iraqis don't want them to have it but they are to busy fighting amongst themselves which suits the US right down to the ground. There is nothing for the US to WIN. They control the oil fields that is all it is about.

This is not a war, it is a police action, and the powers that be, have never intended for it to be won! It is un-win-able, since it is not even a war in the first place. It is a farce, which is costing way too many lives, and making very evil men very much richer than they already were! *sm*

Yes. When Iraq wins and stands alone and sovereign, everybody wins except for Islamic fascists. Its too bad people like the democrats dont.

I love this game. Leftists will tapdance forever before answering this. They will tell you the war is illegal. When you explain that's not what you're asking, they'll ask what you mean by "win". When you press them and demand an answer, they'll declare it unwinnable. When you explain that the question was "Do YOU want to see the US win?", they'll sigh and proclaim the US a failed superpower. If you press them still further, they call you a "Bushbot" or some other nonsensical name and storm off in a huff.

They just can't bring themselves to say they want the US to win. They are seditious weasels.

What I--or anyone else--wants in that regard is irrelevant. The war is lost. Staying will not give us a chance to "win" (whatever it is Bush means by that--he still hasn't te guts to give anyone a straight answer). It will only prolong the agony--and increase the body counts on both sides.

Win what? I thought Dubya said it was Mission Accomplished? Which side are we choosing in the current civil war? Should another country have occupied "America" during it's civil war?
