I've read a lot of articles about child being taken from their parents because of weight problems. I'm at odds with this one. What do you think? For an example: http://www.size-acceptance.org/kayla/

No because sometimes obeseity runs in the family, however, they should be required to put the child on a diet and make sure they are getting plenty of exercise at school.

I think they should remove the children. A friend's daughter overfed her baby boy so much that when he was a toddler he was wider than he was tall. That is too much and dangerous for the child. Fat is one thing. Extremely obese is another. This has nothing to do with size acceptance but a concern for the general health of the child. If you want to be fat and proud of it, that's just great. But you have a responsiblity to your children and that much food is just wrong. And I'm big enough to understand exactly what I'm saying.

Well, that's really tough. But I don't think so. I think they should be taken to a behavioral inpatient treatment center and taught nutrition and health...what their parents aren't teaching them. But we all have choices. We can't become a police state like that... what would be next? It is so harmful to their health to be that obese and the parents clearly play into it immensely...but obesity can run in families...but it can be controlled and it doesn't have to become morbid. I would say no to your question because it would lead to more and more such rules. Public education and outreach programs would be a start to helping this as well as treatment programs.

Absolutely - the children are at risk both physically and mentally. They will not have a chance at a normal life because their parents gave in to their begging and crying for more and did not get the needed professional help. Save the children from becoming big fat blobs that don't physically or mentally fit in anywhere.

Yes, I do. It is worse to their health than smoking and should be considered a form of child abuse/neglact.
