If you scan your vinyl record on a scanner, will it stay the same, or get ruined?

I don't see why it would unless the record is exposed to heat, scrating, or bending.

No. The scanner does not ruin a vinyl record since the scanner not generate heat to destroy the surface of the LP.

No way the scanner can ruin it since the lamp doesn not touch the LP.

No it wont hurt your record.

I've once read in some hi-end audio magazine, there's one software (developed by a Japan company) that can digitize vinyl record by mean of scanning it.

At that time the result is still unacceptable.

Vinyl ( 33s and 45s) get damaged from cuts, scratches and heat .
Does your scanner run hot or something ?
Do you plan on pushing it against the edges ?

Coming from a guy that works at a Record Store... I'd have to say no, don't do that.
