they do not govern themselves, the u.s. can come in and take what they want, when they want it.

I don't think we need to come tear apart your country, George Bush is doing a fine job of that. The U.S. is fighting communism huh? Is that why most of the products in the U.S. are made in China, a communist nation? Is that why the U.S. seems to only be against weaker, communist countries but works with more powerful ones?

Krytox: I don't want latin america to be full of communist dictatorships, I want it to be full of socialist democracies. What I would do is give out arms to the people so that if the government ever tries to become corrupt, they will brought down. But every government can turn bad, even the one in the U.S. has now turned into a plutocracy.

We screw everybody we can. You know how we got Hawaii? We just went into a peaceful nation who had never waged war and dethroned the queen explaining "this is our land now". There are other examples too numerous to list.

#2. Perhaps if Latin America was more assertive, better coordinated, and had a larger armed force, those things wouldn't have happened. But the fact is that Liatin American countries were being dominated by their European colonial rulers. America stepped in and removed those powers, but they also insured democratic institutions because they are best for a governed people.

the ignorance and love of Communism among other stupidities has kept Latin countries were they are...in a hole!

In the early years of the 20 century there was colonialist tendencies from the US...,BUT after WW2 the main reason for the US to intervene in the world stage in general, and not just Latin America was the Cold War, the struggle to keep Communism in check and destroy it....

..since the Communists wanted world domination! and that is a fact we know today!

I know, I am Cuban American born in Communist Cuba in1965, LIVED there my first 14 years, lived the indoctrination, the slogans, the attempts of mind control, I KNOW of all the attempts of Castro of infiltrating not only Latin America with Communist ideologies but Africa as well, etc...from the Sandinista in Nicaragua, to sending invasion troops to Angola were thousands of Cubans died fighting for comunism, to the aid in weapons and personel to the rebels in Colombia., who later became the drug cartels, and on and on....and the morons in Latin America bought into it!! 'how wonderful comunism"....lol....idiots!... if you all only knew how "wonderful" living under a Communist dictatorship really is.....lol...!

meanwhile the US has looked like the bad guy ever since...

This is just a sample! Check the history and your blood starts to boil that how US allows itself to decide for other countries and impose power for OIL and other interests under the name of democracy!!!! and BLA, BLA...for its own survival !
