It did have to refuel! They refuel it in Empire on Bespin (even though they had to fix the hyperdrive too) and pretty much every time they land on somewhere thats not either enemy territory like the death star.
Come on! What do you think it's doing when its in Mos Eisley in A New hope?
I probably look like such a loser now...

Simple... when a ship puts in at a spaceport, part of the dockside services they can take advantage of is to have the ship refuled and supplies restocked (for a fee, of course). Once the Falcon signed on with the Alliance, they kept the ship fueled and maintained just like the rest of their ships. So before missions, etc... the Falcon has already been prepped with full provisions and fuel load.

I think 'cause talkin' about refueling would be a real let down. Imagine if they stopped in the middle of space at a cosmic Exxon station, just to "top off the tank". BORING.
17000 credits could be more than ₤100,000 if each credit is worth ₤6 or more.
Wookie poop! Ha!!!!!! That's a good one.

Of course it is refuelled. Check out the rear of the ship and you will see some very large disks, these are solar panels. Then there is the pipes which are attached to it in numerous scenes when it is at a star port.
Watch the film more closely.

The above answer by Winchy Winch is correct. it did get refuelled and in the first film, when the Empire refuel the ship they place a tracking device on board, and one of the officers explains that to old "Darthy" himself.
See i need to get out more as well !

The ship ran on Wookee poop. Every so often Chubakka would head to the back and dump his brains out into the fuel cell.

This is why I like Star Trek.
Better looking ships, WAY more advanced tech than Star Wars, and they had the Borg.

"A long long time ago" don't you think that a civilization that advanced whilst we were just beggining to walk would have sorted out that little problem, come on this is the civilization that gave us Pod Racing , Padme Amidala and entire species based on our own steroetypes of of our own kind.
