I took the Master Gardener class, which in my county is only offered during the day and requires a huge time commitment. Then I started my own sewing business, so I'm not really retired any more. But since I make my own hours, I get to take off sometimes to go hiking and geocaching and of course work in the garden.

I read a lot, but I always have since I was a kid.
I curl 3 days a week in the winter and golf 5 days a week in the summer.
My wife and I go to Manzanillo Mexico for 2 mos in the winter. No golf, just enjoying our companionship and the many friends that we know down there from all over the US, Canada, Germany.
We live in Ontario, but originally from Scotland, so we go over there for 2 weeks every summer. Cheap for us, as we live with family.
Also, painting, garden, Internet stuff. Researching many things which interest us. Dog walking.
One of my sons lives in London England and has just bought a house in Windsor. (you don't get much house for $1M over there) So my wife has kindly volunteered our services to go over in Sept and paint and decorate.
Otherwise, not a whole lot going on.

I pursued novel writing, now that I have the time, and then branched out into drawing and painting for the same story. From there, to ceramics and when it became boring to see the same thing come out of the molds, I began making my own creations. Before that, when I was cutting back at work in preparation of retiring, it was collecting Barbies from thrift stores (called it my "Barbie rescue") and made clothes for all that didn't have them. I would recommend anything that keeps the spirit alive and gets you out of bed each morning.

Pool (billiards) is a good game to play, it's really fun. You could buy your own pool table at home, and just play for a long time, also learn some tricks, read on how pros play, etc. Fun for all ages, doesn't take a lot of strength either. =)
