Alienware made a name for themselves a few years ago first by customizing the looks of there desktops then for producing very good, if not the best, gaming systems.
If you never heard of them before its probably because you have never read a computer magazine that reviews systems.

Alienware makes a nice high end computer, but they charge a very high price for them. If you're comfortable doing so, you can build your own for a lot cheaper. If you're really serious about gaming and have some extra money to blow, Alienware would be a good choice. They were recently bought by Dell though, so I'm not sure how that has affected them. Falcon Northwest also makes some nice boxes.

This is a great company for gaming PCs and and Notebooks and are ttrustworthy since they were recently bought by Dell. However they are expensive and you should only buy them if you require top performance or a gamer.
Alienware manufactures high-performance desktops, notebooks, media centers, and professional systems. Alienware systems include hardware from Intel, AMD, Nvidia, Creative and many more high-end vendors. Alienware's most famous series of desktops are the Aurora and Area-51 lines; Alienware also sells high-end laptops to which their most famous is the Area-51m. Recently Alienware launched a luxury system line branded with the name ALX, this line has grown into their mobile line as well.
