No they had chamber pots for indoor plumbing and outhouses for outdoor plumbing. They had pitchers and bowls for occasional hand washing. When a chamber pot was full you would dump it out the window into the street.

The queen also had the same accommodations but her's were serviced by an army or servants and her occasional bathwater was heated by the kitchen staff.

I'd say that a form of plumbing has existed ever since ADAM was created,but another stated "NO" there were chamber pots for indoor plumbing and outhouses for outdoor plumbing. So I would say that while he actually meant to say no, at the same time, he basically said yes. it was just not the type of plumbing that is recognized today.

They had indoor plumbing in Europe long before they had it in America. So the answer is yes.
