I actually met my fiancé in a yahoo chatroom a year ago! He's Canadian and I am American. We've only been together in person three times, but once was for a month in the summer (but he'll be here this coming week so I'm excited!!!). It's been a really good experience and I've never been happier! But Long Distance Relationships over the internet can be very difficult.

I have, its been both good and bad experiences for myself. Now I can say that I am happily engaged to the girl i met on an online dating website called americansingles.com. I am happier now then I ever was with any girl I've ever dated. It just depends on the person. I've had worse luck in meeting dates in person then I have with internet dating. With internet dating you atleast get to see the persons picture and profile. Although some people lie in their profiles and that's not cool.

when u met a girl through the internet n u started to like her, u build her personality on the personality u wish to meet, take care u're only dealing with words on the internet or maybe with a photo n this is not enough...so when u meet the girl u thought that this is the one that u want n this is only in ur head then u discover that she's totally different from the one in ur mind, so u get shocked...it's ok to meet people from the internet but u have to be mature n dont take quickly decisions n u have to choose good...
from my experience, i've met some people from the internet but i didnt like the experience n i dont prefer to do it again...

I have gone out with several people I met on the internet and three of them remained such close friends, we still IM each other every day. Been doing that for 4 years now. The odds of meeting an ax murderer online diminishes if you don't mention your axes.
