I just got the tank out of the paper and there is dirty looking water in the tube and bubbles when it gets hot but is that ok and how whould I change the water if its normal ?? Thanks ......

No there should not, that means the heater leaks. It will short out eventually and either cause a fire in the wiring or a serious electrical current in the tank that could kill you when you touch it. VERY dangerous situation. Replace that heater asap!

Unplug the heater immediately and remove it from the tank and throw it away,it's dangerous to your fish and to anyone that touches the tank or the water. Don't wait do it NOW.

Unplug it first. Toss it out. Its cracked or the seal has worn out. It is an electrical danger to you & your fish. It could short out & cause a fire if your breaker box isn't good, or worse, you can get electrocuted...

A lot of the cheap hang on the back ones are like this. They have good replacements for cheap many places.

Yikes ! Get rid of that heater! Your lucky you haven't been electrocuted. Heaters are supposed to be dry inside with no water and no bubbles. You will have to buy a new one. Good Luck!

Throw it away! Just be on the safe side and go get a brand new one!
