when I start it up,and then again as I accelerrate....any idea on why this is happening?


I do have an appt. w/ my mechanic on monday,I just wanted to get others opinions. Thanx

sounds like you may have an exhaust issue, loose bolts at a joint or something like that. i doubt that any thing has rusted through at this point.

If the sound gets louder as you raise RPM's than you have something that is called "Alternator Whine"....

if you have had any previous installs of electronics in your car, they are the ones who caused it. you should take it to them and mention the alternator whine. They should fix it.

If you cant go back to them, than you should take your car to an audio shop and ask them to fix it. a mechanic might not be able to do much since its not a mechanical problem. its electrical.

you may have a starter problem, from your description the starter drive may be hanging in the flywheel causing a starter type noise while running or it could be a bad bearing in a belt driven component on the engine.

Sound's like it could be a rod knocking.

May be its out if engine oil.
