I gave my wife a sapphire ring for Christmas one year. It was slid on a branch of the tree and covered by one of the many bows tied on the tree. I had her untie the bow Christmas day.

Its never happened but i had a dream while my husband was in iraq. I dreamt that he came home early fo his R&R but didn't tell me. Then he called my phone and told me to go outside to the big tree. Under it was a note directing me to another place in the yard which led me to another note. After a few it ended in the flower garden with a box lying ontop of another ntote. In it was a ring, and the note told me to turn around and there he was. I thought that was such a romantic dream.

Mine was an aviator watch...I folded into a flannel shirt and put it in a box for his birthday (which is 3 days from Christmas) I was sooo excited to give it to him..he opened the box and looked at the shirt...and then he looked at me like "what the heck are you so excited about?" I asked him to take the shirt out and try it on..he did. When he pulled the shirt from the box the watch fell to the floor. He almost had a heart attack....
I don't think he had been so excited since I traded my violin for an Alvarez guitar for our first anniversary. Alda
