Scripturally there is abundant proof that the word soul has two basic meanings, the life of the person, and the entire person or being itself. Animals are also souls.
The scriptural proof is here:

It's located in your mind, and the mind of any and all who give though to it. Anything spiritual is not of the physical plane, therefore "location" as applied to physical objects and space does not apply to that which is referred to as the "human soul". It would serve the same purpose to ask where "ideas" or "thoughts" or "spirit" are located. They are located where you perceive them.
As I understand it, the energy that animates the body, an aware conscious entity is the soul. A spiritual being if you will, it is located not in the physical realm, but in the spiritual, our thought processes tend to bridge the two realities or dimensions if you prefer, but not very well.
It's like a painting trying to understand Picasso, the tools are not adequate to the task. Some things men were not meant to know(Revealations, last book of the Bible is the documentation your question requested), therefore they are unknowable. Human perception has limits, and your question just found one of them.
Hope I helped.

To document the location of the "soul" would be quite an accomplishment. Why do I see so many contradictions here? If the soul is your brain [yoli] & [blogbaba] says it is not of the physical plane, what is the brain if not physical? As I humbly understand it, the "soul" is a distinct spiritual entity separate from the body. Where could it be located? Oh good grief, I think I know what someone may say. I wonder is it possible to think of oneself as energy, interconnected energy, since we're all made of the same "stardust." Share the same molecules. Obviously, I'm an Atheist. I've gone far, far past the concept of a "creator." Such linear thinking there is as to where/how it all began!

The soul is the person themselves. Not something that lives inside of us. God breathed the breath of life into Adam and he became a living soul. He was not given a soul. Immortal soul is a pagan doctrine like the ancient Egyptians believed in,

Why are you asking a question that you say you know the answer to? I, for one, would be interested in the answer you have and what your documentation is. Please write me at my email address and tell me where the human soul is located.
I kind of liked the Egyptian idea that the pineal body was the home of man's soul. And why not. No one has figured out a use for it, but we all have one.

Soul IS the location. To say soul is a location where things happen is a sufficient exposition of the mystery of life, as known by mortals. Your reference to documentation is tantamount to heresy.

Hence the soul is nothing intrinsically real, nor is the body either; each of them exists in time only in and through the other. The only element of an individual thing that is intrinsically real is the identity of soul and body.. Furthermore, the soul is not anything that is intrinsically real, since it exists only through its relative opposition to the body.

It is in the land and sky, but you do not need it. Try to become one with it. I believe in nothing and no one else should either. Be like me and move to the areas of the planet that are virgin. Build a home there. You will not feel the need to ask such questions.

Its located in every facet of all living entities. "The soul" is not broken down to individuals.... Its an energy which is shared and is a part of ALL life.
Many might be able to comprehend this much better if one were to say: "The Force".... Very much the same principal involved.

Okay, tell me where. I'd love to know. But make sure you quote chapter and verse of the sacred text you're working from. Otherwise I'll be skeptical.
You remind me of Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, a Russian cosmonaut and a good Communist. When he was up there, he said he did not see God anywhere. I guess that settled the issue for him.
