lived in the azores and had garden spiders (big , hairy, but "harmless" HA) thrown on me at ages 2-4 by bratty boyz. So , I've had a hell of a time getting rid of this phobia...but not afraid nearly as much as I once was. I got a tat on my lower back/hips/butt of a big spider web cause it's really the only thing I've ever been afraid of. I am still not comfy cozy with them...but I can now actually camp on the ground in areas where tarantulas are (waiting , lurking, ready to pounce and scare the holy hell out of me :) ...that would never have been possible a few years ago. I didn't even like driving through (seriously ...lmao)...arizona , west tx, or nevada.

The biggest one I saw was akin to the one in the attached pictures. It was a big as the plate it was sitting on in my kitchen!! I professionally bug bombed the house and it was still a long time before I could go into the kitchen and not look nervously around myself for that spider. UHHGH, gives me the chills thinking about it. Give me a snake anyday over a freakin spider.
BTW - The spider I encountered, those durn Carolina Wolf Spiders, are the biggest spiders in North America - YUCK and chills: here's a link -

Oh, I used to be so scared that even little ones would have me yelling for my mom to get rid of them. One night, when I was about 14 I think, I stayed up until midnight watching a spider just sitting on my bedroom wall because I needed to know where it was going- but it just stayed still for the three hours I was watching it. Then I realised I needed to sleep so I got a shoe and killed it.
I feel awful about it now- I mean, it didn't do anytrhing to me, and chances are that it wasn't going to....but all those legs isn't normal- what do they need so many for anyway????
The biggest spider I have ever seen was on telly- it was the size of a dinner plate, I'm so glad that I don't live in that country!

Yes I am SOO scared of spiders. I don't know what the biggest I have seen is. But I go pretty crazy when I see one, once I saw one in the bathroom and I would not go in there for a few weeks.

YES. I don't care how big they are, I cannot stand seeing them or being near them. Sometimes I'm so scared in the middle of the night I think I feel a spider on me and I can't sleep for the rest of the night. Recently there was a spider in my car and I had to pull over on the side of the road and run away from it. I'm terrified of them.

I'm scared of the big ones, but not the small ones unless it is crawling on me. But when we first moved in this house, we use to have some huge spiders. When I say huge I mean huge, them things were like 2 inches long. I would always go to my mom, and be like momma there's a spider can you kill it for me I scared. Hahaha.

yeah, im really scared of spiders, and ive had bad experiences with them (almost two times already a spider has fallen on my head, i was just lucky to look up; becsue of those experiences, everytime I walked in to a room I had to look up at the ceiling); sometimes i have nightmares with spiders chasing me. But i havent seen big spiders in my house, those are usually outside

No, but I have a funny story about a guy who is.
me and _a guy i know were on the front porch, he was leaning against the wall beside the front door, and i was directly across from this guy, when i saw a very small spider climbing up the wall beside him.
an d I said like, dude kill that spider beside ya.
next thing i know dude, freaks out, and jumps over the railing, and drops about 8 feet to the ground.
I laughed so hard i almost fell over said railing

Had a spider so big its called a Gigantica. Now how do I know? Well it was so big I ran out and got my neighbor lady Isabelle and she came over and trapped it in a canning jar and we took it to the extension and they told us what kind it was. Then my lovely husband said "hey hon, you know if theres one spider theres two? Male and female." I slept with the lights on and my eyes open for months! I hate spiders!!
