What is it not doing? Here are some general tips:

Look at the signal strength shown under NETWORK CONNECTIONS. If it says weak try reorienting the antennas (should be vertical not horizontal). Try moving it to a more central location in the area to be covered. Try switching to a different channel from the default (=1) and avoid channels your neighbors may be on. Move it away from 2.4KHz cordless phones and microwave ovens.
