God made us require air to live. Oxygen keeps our heart beating so we can live.

You assume first that God made us and second that we need air. I don't believe God made me or that there is a God or Gods.

I don't believe that I need air. I breathe so that I can live and when I no longer want to live, I will stop breathing. Air is only necessary if your goal is to live; it is a means to an end.

We need oxygen, not air. And this is so that we can make energy. ATP. This is an efficient way to use the chemical bonds in the food we eat to make proteins, make nerves work and use this energy to organize the cells. Reverse entropy. Not all living things use oxygen. There are some life forms here on earth that can't live in the presence of oxygen.

None of what we think we see is real. It's just our minds. God never made the body. the body is not real. we only think we're real. Truely we are spirit and Children of God. We've never left him. So in short we don't need air. You won't die without it, but you'll think that you have. So in the short term keep breathing.

Regardless the source........ Oxygen is required at a biological level in order for the human body to function properly. Food & water is also required, not for the sake of having a solid and liquid substance itself but for what they contain! Air is the same.

He didn't. A prehistoric esoteric teacher woke up from a nightmare after injesting too many magic mushrooms and then went on to teach his students some breathing exercises. He told them that this would allow them to save their souls and prevent them from being eaten up by the moon. The theory stuck and ever since breathing began to be written into the human DNA. It is now extremely difficult to erase that feature but modern advances will surely enable us to do so relatively soon.

Whatever we evolved from needed air so we do too. Perhaps our next step will be to evolve back to fish and we won't need it in the same way.

We're in a constant state of adaptation. Through the generations things tweak and change. I'd imagine our psychic capabilities becoming uncanny through the centuries.

I don't know but a lot of people would rather breathe smoke than air. Crazy if you ask me.

Oxygen, more specifically. And maybe it was a random throw of a 10-sided dice or something.
