The limited or no connectivity is telling you that you are able to talk to the router, but the router is not allowing you to connect to it so you can use its services.

A few things could be causing this:

1) You have wireless security enabled. WEP or WAP, and you need to input the correct security code. Log into your router and turn off the wireless security to see if that corrects the problem. If it does then you need to setup your computer with the correct Security Key.

2) MAC filtering has been enabled and you MAC address of the adapter on the computer is either in the list to not allow connection or is not in the list to allow connection. Log into your router and make sure MAC filtering is disabled.

3) Your firewall is not setup to allow the wireless connection. Either setup the firewall to allow the network connection or disable the firewall until you can confirm that the connection does or does not work without a firewall.

How many bars do you have for your siginal strength, and are you trying to connect to a secured wirless network? if so, you will need to feed something called a WEP key into the configuration settings for how the computer will connect to the network.

If it is siginal strength, try getting a siginal booster from a place like compusa, and if it is that your network is secured, there is a way to go in and tell it what the key it needs to connect is. I could walk you through it or emachines could also. If youre still under warranty there pretty good about tech support, especially since the purchase of gateway corp

It means just what it says. The wireless signal is being degraded between you and the wireless router.
Have you tried the Repair option in your wireless software?

well, see what the connection problem is.

Click connect, see what comes up. If you are borrowing the signal, then pick the strongest.

If it is your signal, find a better place for your router.
