Of course the world would still exist!!! Perception is just perception( your views only). In fact the world would thrive better without the humans!!! We are to blame for global warming, greed ,war and everything else evil. Without us..this planets worst virus..the world would certainly thrive in the way it was intended. Sorry, I cannot prove this statement. It`s just common sense to me anyway.

Existence is not dependent on human perception, but rather human perception is dependent on existence. Humanity doesn't project (create) reality, reality already exists. How can it be proven? The only way we as humans can prove anything, for that matter is through what we discover in existence- that creation is intelligently made (metaphysical concept of matter/form) by some being (the first mover, God, etc) and therefore the concept of existence beyond human perception (whether or not the earth would still exist-doesn't matter) would still exist. etc.

Ah, I have found a new understanding of the algorithms comprising my life-view :).
Perception does indeed create the world, but 'a priori' instruments curve reality to be what we perceive. Perception is merely an intake of information, like a color-blind man not being able to perceive the color of a yellow ball. The sensible reality exists, but we just happen to take in information. (Kant's views).
However, that only assumes what I, as a human being, will never discover. Humans simply perceive, and nothing exists outside of it - to that individual, anyway. It cannot be proven then, for "proof" is based on perceptual evidence.
The answer should be: who knows? No humans anyway... (or so I assume).

Well, if that was true, millions of years of archaeological history are a lie of our senses. I'm not sure many would like that plan much, specially if they make a living from it... however, physical theory has ideas about it on the subatomic level.
Hawking recently picked through a physical theory of the evolution of the planet and came to a fairly neat reconciliation of these two very spooky possibilities in the idea that many possible evolutions of earth existed, rather than one.
An objective inference of that theory is that you are right, and lack of perception stops an earth from being, in a certain frame of reference. The trick is that it is just one of many, so objectively 'something' goes on but what is not perceived relegates back to a state of potential being, thats the nature of the mysterious quantum state.

A persons perception is their reality, is anyone real or is everyone just part of my dream? For an individual, nothing exists beyond their perception and if all sentient beings ceased to exist wouldn't your question be moot, for who would be left to ask or answer it?.. :-)

What I have never understood is why the resources aren't directed to providing new living quarters for refugees away from the conflict. If people want to die endlessly over a plot of land(no matter what the spiritual significance) that is a regretful situation, but don't force it upon everyone.

I actually think everything exists through the eyes of the beholder.
When I see a projector casting pictures onto a screen, I visualize something like that for us. We are the projector creating our own 'movie'. The light/energy never dies, only new characters are created to play in a never ending play.

Our objective science story says "yes, the world would still exist." But that's one of the principle assumptions science makes. We don't know, and it probably can't be proven.
