Unless they are specifically marked as "all natural" or "hormone free" yes chickens as well as many other animals used as food are pumped full of hormones to make them grow faster and larger.

This happens at LOTS of places where you buy chicken - sure, they use hormones.
Best to get chickens from a local place (check classified ads or get referrals from friends) - what you want is freerange chickens with no shots. In our area, Hutterite colonies have great chickens, and they are big - naturally.

Dont know if their injected with anything, but they sure do taste good!
