if you saw them burning the flag would you set back. think of all the men that died just for you to have free speach but we can not get the protesters to use it.

Protesters burn the flag to get attention. If people don't pay attention to them for doing that and people don't show that they are upset by it the protesters will stop doing it. That is in America. In other countries it is because the flag is the symbol of America and so by burning the flag they are symbolically burning America.

I believe that for once that flag is not the true flag. In fact, the flag with horizontal stripes is the flag of war. The flag of the republic has vertical stripes. See the 1913 postcard which portraits the Chicago Town Hall surmounted by the flag with vertical stripes.

because a flag of a country is supposed to represent something, like the US flag fro example should represent freedom, so therefore protestors are pissed because they dont feel that tehre is freedom, so they burn it cuz tehy are pissed and cuz ttheir govt has lied to them. burning a flag is a sign of disrispect, therefore it is done as a form of manifestation against something that you dislike.
Lets say that you receive a letter from ur GF saying she wants to break up with you ur gonna break it into peices and/or burn it, it is a symbol that you want to forget that person and that you hate them

They think that is the best way to get others mad at them, and therefore telling them to listen to them. It's like a 5 year who stomps and yells and makes theirselves look stupid, but everyone notices. Sometime people care, but others, like me, laugh at them and continue on.
People really like that flag, and people have really died for that flag, and for someone to burn one because their feelings are hurt? They should be tied to a tree and everyone gets one kick. Fun and effective I say.
