I had an interview with Macy's and i think i did pretty well, i talked about my previous job and she said it relate with the position i was applying to well. But at the end she said there were no positions available and she would call me back in two weeks. I think she said this because she dosen't want me, what do you think by experience?

If there really is no positions available, then nothing she say will actually help. Unless she knows someone will leave their current job in two weeks.

But usually, when she said she'll call you in two weeks, most probably you are off the list. Sorry.

However, you can make a good impression of yourself, and GIVE HER A CALL in two weeks time to ask if there is any position available. Give her the impression that you really like and care for the job, and would not want her to forget about you so soon. Build your reputation as someone who really wants to work there. In fact, keep in good contact with her once in a while and you may even become friends...

Usually, when an employer wants you, they will say they will come back to you AT MOST in 3 or 4 days time (if not immediately or the next day), so that they don't lose you to other employers.

Unless of course, there are hundreds of candidates applying, which means they really need to go through 2 weeks of interview. So don't give up hope!

It could mean they're not interested. It could mean that she knows that someone else is getting canned in two weeks and there will be a position available. It could mean that she was leaving on vacation after you interview and would not be back for two weeks, but plans to call you first thing upon her return.

The bottom line is you don't know what it means. But you need to assume they are still interested, but not count on getting this job. So while you should still keep searching, you should also be sure to send a thank-you note highlighting how much you enjoyed your meeting with her and would be honored to work for Macy's. End the note with, "I look forward to hearing from you when a position becomes available" or something of the sort. Even if she was on the fence about you, a good thank you note could tip the deal in your favor.

She could be saying she isn't interested in you, and putting you off so she doesn't have to deal with you now.
Or, she could just as easily be saying she likes you, but she still has 60 interviews over the next couple of days, and then she has to evaluate the candiates and pick the (most) suitable one...

You'll never know - try calling in a day or two before the two weeks is up to see how things are going.

It sounds like the head honcho of BJs is an utter Douchebag. You don't want to work for them anyways. How you were treated was not fair at all, but if you want to get back at them, tell EVERYBODY what you don't like about that place. As they say, "one person saying something bad about a business is as powerful and 10 people saying something good". If I'm ever in Houston, you can bet I won't be eating there!

Why would she say there are no positions available? Then why the hell did she interview you in the first place? Obviously, that's a complete lie. You should have told her to go back to employer etiquitte school and learn how to interview someone correctly.

In my experience it usually means that you didnt get the job.

Why would they call you for a interview and then turn around and say they dont have any postions available?

There still hope..... I still hope you get the job. Good Luck

Why would they give you an interview if there are no positions available? It sounds like you didn't get the job.

They don't want you.
Call them in 3 weeks and try again.
Keep trying and look in other places. They will NEVER call you.
They don't usually interview people and tell them to wait if they need someone.

Usually there should be another interview. She might call you up again or not.
