Every American of 18 years and older should not only be allowed to own, but it should be that every American who is not a felon should carry a holstered side Arm, or on the shoulder. A town in GA. made it Mandatory for the head of each household to own and maintain a fireArm, their crime rate is dropped off the charts. And their town is growing and flourishing.

Every citizen of the USA has the second amendmant right to bear arms. Its a right under the bill of rights not a privilledge and it shall not be infringed. Even a felon can own a gun legally. In some states they can re-apply with the court and have the right restored. Under the protection of the bill of rights the felony gun law is unconstitutional.

In Tennessee, a misdemeanor domestic assault will get you banned from owning a gun. I'm okay with it, btw.
To the guy who thinks a gun is required for a felony, you are sooooo wrong. You can have more than 1/2 ounce of mj and be a felon.
Drugs and a gun will get you Fed time.

Hmmm.
What about felons-in-training?
And nutcases?
And children?
And those who can't properly handle guns?
The answer is NO, everyone shouldn't be allowed to own guns unless they are felons. It seems that felons never have a problem getting guns, so people and companies should be jailed for allowing felons (and children, and nutcases) to have them.

Pretty much anyone who is old enough, is not a felon, and is not a mental patient is allowed to own a gun.

NO...havent you been watching the news...VT killer was not a fellon and he was able to purchase 2 guns within a months time. He was here on a student visa and has a history of mental health issues. And I hate when someone says "Well guns dont kill people people kill people" Yes people with guns without the guns there would be a lot less homicide in the world.

Absolutely! Do some research, everywhere that handguns have been banned, the crime rate skyrockets. On the other hand, in states that allow concealed carry, the crime rate is much lower. Think about it who is going to carjack you if they think there is a chance that you are going to blow their brains out? Besides, in a world where guns are illegal, only criminals will have them, and make no mistake, they will have them! However, if you have children, you have a responsibility to keep and firearms secured away from them, with the exception of supervised shooting.
