Most likely may have deteriorated Vacuum hoses.
Could be fuel filter, could be a any number of things.

well given the fact that it is a 92, it will not have a carburator, that eliminates about half of the solutions i see. i will say this, you are quite bold or conpletely nuts to pull plug wires off with the engine running, all i can say is ouch. start from the beginning. do a compression chech on all four cylinders, should be close to equal to each other, you are allowed 10% variance between the high and low. pressures should probably be around 140 psi, you want to run this test with the engine warm. if all four are equal then, check plug condition, are they worn, gummed up,or what? just a starting point

It's almost hard to believe it runs at all with two cylinders not firing, but oh well...

Let's go back to basics...take all the plugs out and do a compression check on it first. If they are all up to spec, look at your plugs...are some wet or crusted black at the electrode? Change them. Same thing for wires, so you are starting with known values...

Still run rough, check all the little rubber vacuum hoses all around the engine compartment. Reconnect any that are split, brittle or broken off...

Did I mention checking your timing belt????

Easy, your distributer cap has carbon arcing inside the cap, in other words..... Give the car a tune-up..... new wires, plugs, cap and rotor. Oil change and air filter..... then I bet your can will run like new.... preventative manitenance will keep your car running a long time.

Check the vacuum hoses. Transmission vacuum advance, some models, ( backside of carb). Then check your main emission items, check to ensure that pcv valve isn't clogged, egr valve, intake, etc.

it doesnt sound like its inside the engine.change the wires, and see if that fixes it.if it dont then it might be the coil pack or module.
