yes you'll end up miserable and alone, i know i am; however, when you open up to people they tend to disappoint and hurt you. you're screwed anyway the way i see it. you open up and get hurt and over time you don't bounce back so easily, but if you shut up you turn bitter and end up alone.

Alone, yes. Whether or not you're miserable is entirely up to what you make of it - being alone doesn't have to mean feeling lonely.

Yep!
I was headed down that road and was very miserable.
I started opening up and now have a a fiancé and a daughter who is now officially two years old- it's her birthday today!
