we found him outside...some little kids were throwing him around and being mean to him..poking him with sticks etc. he has a cut on his mouth and his neck and a small cut on his tail and a little red bump on the top of his head and he will only move his legs if u poke them..and he wont move his head at all...we think maybe he has general trauma from the kids being mean to him and because hes hurt

This is going to be tough. Something that helps them is made by Exo-Terra and called Electrodize. It rehydrates him. This should hydrate him enough to move and eat but he will need medical attention by an exotic pets vet and even more of the proper environment that these turtles (even healthy) demand. If you have more questions just ask!

Take this animal to the nearest vet immediately! Your local vet will be able to determine if any infection has set in and will be able to locate a wild life rehabilitator who will nurse this animal back to health. It's dietary requirements are not being met and you want avoid causing any further trauma. Most vets have an answering svs, some areas have pet ER's, where the animals go when the vet office is closed (like now, because it's the weekend).
You're to be commended for getting this animal away from those kids. If I was there, I would have called the local police and filed a report. You can do that without getting anyone in trouble. Kids who pick on innocent animals and cause them harm are very troubled and have little or no respect for life. They are bully's. A couple of hours of community service under the supervision of the area police or Probation Department would, perhaps teach these young people the value of life. Getting their parents involved would be even better.

Nature will heal him faster and better than you can- the sheer stress of the injuries combined with being caught by a giant will cause problems.

Release it on the edge of the nearest pond or creek ASAP.

(FYI- the injuries sound pretty treatable. If this was a captive turtle, the treatment would be kinda simple, but would also include reducing stress. For a wild turtle, that means release.)

My red ear had the same issue. The only thing you can really do is try to coax him into trusting you. If he is really very adamate about not letting anyone near him, you should let him go. If you think he may have a broken appendage, I suggest taking him to a vet specializing in reptiles.
