It's been so long since I saw it below $1.25/gallon it seems like it has been decades.

I remember my father driving some 20 or 30 miles to a station where they actually had "gas wars" going on and he got gas for....hang on to your hat... 19 cents a gallon.

I don't know what year it was or anything, but it must have been in the 60's.

About 1970 my dad was taking us on vacation in his tiny Fiat down south and we came upon a gas price war and my dad saw gas for 22 cents a gallon for regular. Unfortunately the Fiat took only premium, had a tiny gas tank and was almost full when he found the cheap gas. I do remember Sinclair's dinosour too.

I remember driving with my Grandfather. We were in a dinosaur on wheels. 8 Liter V8, rear wheel drive towing a 50 foot sail boat. Gasoline was 48 Cents a liter and he refused to pay for gas. We were on empty and hours from the lake. We kept going.

I can remember 39 cents a gallon. I used to put a dollar's worth of gas in my parent's car before I brought it home! Now you know how old I am!

I remember getting gas for the lawn mower back in the 1960s. It was about a two-gallon can, and it took two quarters to fill it up, IIRC.

Back in the 70s I bought gas at .24/gal.
I still remember my outrage when the price went to .50/gal.
