My cousin charges $7.50 for a name or 3-inch motif, then raises the price by fractions accoring to how big the design gets. For instance a 6-inch motif would be $15.00. But she pays full retail for her supplies. If you can get the thread wholesale, you may be able to charge less.

I would sell an item using the following calculation...cost of material (e.g. towel, shirt, stabilizer, etc) I had purchased plus a set price/1000 stitches. You need to make sure that you are comfortable with the complete price as it would be a reflection of your time and energy in completing the sale.

Well, i dont, but the way i would figure it is if you put your time and effort and supplies into it, and it would be more worth keeping it for yourself than giving it up for a certain price, thats how you know the least youll sell it for.say someone wants to buy a piece for $30, and you think for all your labor and time, its more worth you keeping it,than giving it up for that amount, sell it for no less than $50.hard to explain what im trying to say, but anyway, people will pay more for a unique item, so dont sell yourself short.
