I have been an In-Home-Care-Nurse for my Mother, Mother-In-Law, and for my Husband. So I do have knowledge of the Medical terminology and spelling. I am also very good at spelling.

You need schooling in order for you to have a legit Medical Transcriptions job. Think about attending a local community college for a possible future career in this field. I dont believe that is possible to learn everything there is to know in this field just from simply taking care of your mother.

If you are indeed interested in this field, call your local higher education school and ask about there programs. You may also search online for Medical Transcription jobs. FYI..... There are a ton of scams out there that involve around this field or "WORK FROM HOME" related jobs. No potential jobs should ever involve you paying money....EVER.

Good Luck to you

I work in the medical field and was going to school for medical transcription. As far as I know, most major hospitals require a degree. You may want to look in the newspaper for a smaller clinic. Our clinics have moved away from dictating and are now using an electronic medical record. I am not sure if most providers are leading toward this avenue. I would just ask if they require an actual degree.
