I went over railroad tracks right before this noise began. Before the car ran fine. Now it is making the metal on metal noise turning left and sometimes also pulls a little to the left. Was wondering what the possible causes might be or did I just knock something loose?

Your best bet is to take to a shop and hope for the best. My girlfriend was driving my car to school one day and when she got home, there was a metal on metal noise coming from the bottom of my car. I looked underneath but couldn't see anything dragging. I drove it around and sometimes it would go in and out and sometimes really loud. I tried driving fast, driving slow, turning the wheel all the way to the left, all the way to the right, and eventually, the noise went away. I assumed it was something stuck in between my brakes and hubcap and I was lucky that it came off....I haven't heard it since, but I hope it hasn't damaged anything.

Metal on metal is dangerous and if it continues, can damnage your car so take it to the shop asap to have a professional to take a look at it.

Good luck and hope it is just minor!

If this noise you're referring to happened right after you went over the railroad, I doubt it has to do with the brakes. It could be a tie rod or a ball joint since you're hearing the noise when turning left. Have checked ASAP because it could be dangerous. Good luck.

sounds like brakes may be low it would start to make noise when going straight also as they wear down. without hearing the noise its hard to say. unless it sounds like your dragging a trash can when turning then ide say you got problems. for the pulling check tire pressure, unless the car is taking right turns for you, then, again you have problems.

i own a shop and when you went over the tracks you must have damaged something under neath of it ,you need to go and have it put up in the air,and look at the bottom of it and see how bad it is,either way it will have to be repaired good luck hope this helps.

Go to a garage and have the damage repaired before it causes an accident that could take someone's life.
