Think abou this you can'y practice Psychology without a Ph. D in most states. The money isn't worth it considering the loans you will have to take out.

To become a psychologist requires that you receive formal training and get the credential from a college or university. The best school is one that fits you NOT necessarily an Ivy League school (Harvard, Yell, etc.) In reality a recent study showed the fact that if you went to an Ivy League school there was no assurance you would succeed or be paid more than a state school graduate. The same study showed business professionals outperforming their Ivy League counterparts in earning capacity. So it really doesn’t matter what school you go to, just that you go and do well in your studies. Doing well in your studies is also required to get into graduate school. Graduate school to get a Masters or PhD in psychology will help you have more credibility and get you a better job which pays more. So be prepared to go to school for about 9 years after high school.

Good luck in your psychologist quest and remember: It isn't the job that means success, its the realization of doing your dream that means success.
