I'm a university student going back home for the summer. Whenever I go back, my neighbours and people I do work for (they're mostly elderly and middle aged men and women) always keep asking whether I have a boyfriend. I tell them no and they just think I am being coy and they don't believe me. I know that most of them consider me to be very pretty (because many of them have told my parents this) and most of them think that it's very odd that year after year I come home from school boyfriendless. I know that they mean well, and they just assume that I am living an active and exciting life and am getting lots of attention from men. The truth is that I'm 21 and I've never had a boyfriend or a date, which upsets and embarasses me. I really don't want to have to tell anyone this, but I just want these people to stop asking me because it's a really sore subject.

Tell them you are waiting for Mr. Right and you haven't met him yet....
You should be getting out more socially .. they won't come knocking on your door.. you have a life to live, you should be having some fun as well as an education....you need to step out of your box... if you are good looking sometimes if you are not friendly and talkative, guys get nervous about asking you out, cause they think you will shut them down....
You have to make a bigger effort if you want to change things....

Now dearie, if I understand correctly, you basically just want to shut them up. Right? Then tell them what they want to hear.

"Yes, there is a friend that is very nice to me but I prefer to keep that private." If they keep going: "I said that's private."
Stand your ground and be less pleasent each time you have to repeat yourself. They will get the hint.

Best Wishes.

Not a steady. You're playing the field and enjoying every minute. Just as soon as you find your prince, they'll be the first to know!

Next time they ask, just put on a fake innocent look and say, "Who me? Maybe.." that will slove your problems, I use it at every family picnic. It's a lifesaver!
