From what I understand, carbon dating is effective LONG past 8000 years. However, hypothetically speaking, even if it wasn't, that wouldn't help prove creationism. It would only be attacking and trying to disprove evolutionist. You need to find evidence that you are correct, and since you want it to be something other then the bible, you are going to have a pretty hard time. If you could prove it then the Evolution / Creation "debate" wouldn't exist. In that matter, "Faith" wouldn't exist since you would have also proved the existence of a deity. That's alot for a thesis. Good luck.

You have been misinformed. What you have to understand is that as time passes, the world moves into new times and new things, and the human understanding must constantly be renewed. God makes all things new!
Beginning about 300 years ago, the human ability to reason brought about the Enlightenment, and with it the scientific revolution. For most people, the Enlightenment brought intellectual freedom and an opportunity to draw closer to a rational grasp of the reality in which we are immersed.
THESE PEOPLE ARE THE WINNERS.
There remained and still remain, however, a minority of people who do not understand the meaning, the power, the godliness and the beauty of that rational understanding, but instead find it frightening. These people prefer to remain with their incorrect understanding that in the past there were people who had a correct understanding of things that came from supernatural sources. These people insist that their faulty understanding of the older magical sources is the real understanding, and that those who have accepted the rational way of approaching reality must be wrong because modern people disagree with what the leaders of these regressive thinkers want their followers to believe.
THESE PEOPLE ARE THE LOSERS.
The winners win and the losers lose for the simple reason that REALITY IS WHAT REALITY IS, AND NO ONE'S WISHES TO THE CONTRARY MATTER AT ALL.
Evolution is a well understood process that is scientifically evident and cannot be denied. The evidence for evolution is overwhelming, and all the winners accept the notion of evolution. Only the losers refuse to accept it.
Here is a web site that is easy to understand that explains in simple terms why the notion of Evolution describes reality correctly.
http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evosite/evohome.html
From this you will learn why the Godly, sane approach to reality is to accept the fact that Evolution explains part of the mystery of how God creates his creation, and why being afraid to accept the notion of Evolution is ungodly and based on irrational fears.
Please save your fear for fearing ("revering") God, and see if you can outgrow fearing reality. Leave the LOSERS behind, and become a WINNER. Relax, and let the Holy Spirit carry you into the real world.
And finally, please realize that it is arrogant and foolish, in the Biblical sense, to assume that somehow "christians" have the only truth and all "christians" disbelieve the notion of evolution. The fact is that no matter what you believe you are in the minority--there are more people that believe other things, in the aggregate. And surveys (plus personal experience) show that more Christians believe in evolution than otherwise.

First, I belong the the original Christian church (Catholics) and we have no problem with evolution. When you try to pin a fundamentalist down on taking the Bible literally, I always ask, "Why not take the book of Deuteronomy with all its commandments and rules from God literally" (no pork, no shellfish, Saturday is the Lords day). They will tell me, "That was the OLD Testament, we follow the NEW Testament." Well, Excuse Me but isn't Genesis in the Old Testament? And why display the 10 Commandments?
Don't worry about carbon dating. The Andromeda Galaxy is visible from earth with the naked eye. It is 2,500,000 light years away. In other words, the light from the Andromeda Galaxy that you see now has been traveling through space for 2.5 Million years. So it has to be older than that. The light from the furthest galaxies visible with the Hubble space telescope took 13,000,000,000 (13 Billion) years to get here. That's more than 3 times the Scientifically determined age of Earth! (And over 2 Million times as old as some Biblical interpolations (6,000 years) of the Earth's age.) But the sky created in Genesis has to be at least that old, doesn't it?
As for me, I work in the field of genetically engineered vaccines (among others). Evolution is an essential part of the life-saving medicines my clients produce. Not only do I see Evolution every day, I practice it!

There is no proof of creationism as it is not a scientific theory. The bible is not evidence of anything relating to how the world came to be. The bible is a religios book for christians and have nothing to do with biology, evolution or the beginning of the world. You will find no evidence of creationism anywhere, because there is no evidence.

To a person of faith, no explanation is necessary. To an unbeliever, no amount of proof will ever be enough. This has always been about faith. To argue that an impersonal "chance" is responsible for this incredibly complex physical universe and the beings in it without the endorsement of most scientists (who are also mostly atheists) it would sound absurd. On the other hand, Christians must often make due with scant physical evidence, since precious little remains after 6,000 years or so since creation. No monuments were built for Jesus, no great deeds. Only a final command to love your brothers, and to remember He Will return one day to begin judgment.
I wish people would stop all the hate full name calling "ignorant" and such. We all have varying degrees of faith. It also takes faith to believe classic evolution, just as it does any religion made up of mostly conjecture, maybes, and might have beens.

Carbon dating is accurate to about 40,000 years. It is just one of many different dating methods which can go back billions of years. For reliable information, try the Talk Origins Archive at http://www.talkorigins.org
The FAQ and the Index to Creationist Claims are good places to start.
Creationism is not the alternative to evolution, ignorance is. There is no evidence at all to support a young Earth or craetionism. None. The creationist sites ignore or misrepresent science to try to prove their agenda - and fail dismally. There is no science at all in creationism. Biblical literalists have to reject physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, cosmology, geology, geomorphology, meteorology, climatology - and any other science you care to name. Science and Genesis are completely incompatible - which is why most Christians accept Genesis as metaphor and accept science, the long age of the earth and evolution.
Evolution does not negate the existence of gods but creationism negates the existence of logic and reason.

nope, carbon dating can be used accurately up to 45,000 years ago. that may use cutting edge techniques so round it down to 30,000 for a bit more certainty if you like?
why does being a Christian imply your doing creationism?as a catholic with common sense i have no problem accepting evolution as fact, even when i was at a catholic primary school there was no issue!
how does carbon dating affect creationism, surely to prove creationism you need actual evidence not just disproof of alternate theories? or do you is intelligent falling proved because current models for gravity aren't quite right?

Be careful where you look for answers. I would strongly suggest you check out this page. Yes it's a different religion then yours BUT when we look at the facts we must put aside judgements of what a persons religion. If Athiest would do that more often then maybe Biologist would learn that perfect science and GOD coexist.

not a chance in heck.
carbon dating is quite accurate beyond 8000, and potasium/phosphorus decay studies only super verify prior claims.
your argument is philisophical. Is there a "being" that started it all, by creating a device called the Universe with his mind? maybe, maybe even the best hypothesis.

Have you ever considered that God caused evolution. It said God made the world in 6 days (7th to rest), well exactly how long is a day to God? You can't deny evolution happened just as you can't deny Jesus Christ walked this earth. So what if the two go hand in hand. There is no way evolution could produce something as complex as the eye by chance. God had a hand in it.
