It has happened to me, and I have sometimes been shocked...once I was chosen out of 100 people, i was absolutely gobsmacked!!!! How about you???

Yes I've been surprised when I've been chosen or voted Best Answer and I really don't think I deserved it, or when it seems to go against the Asker's own beliefs.
The last one I was surprised about was two days ago when a very horrible man posted a nasty question about the younger users of the site. I told him I had several teenagers on my contact list and enjoyed their Q&A as much as anyone's else's, that he was rude, and in breach of Community Guidelines, while nearly everyone else agreed with him.
He gave me Best Answer - apparently in order to call me a "moronic pedophile creep".
I wasn't expecting to get Best Answer, and I was pretty shocked by his response. Anyway, Yahoo have deleted his hateful question, so I guess they agreed it was against Guidelines.

I was surprised when one of my answers wasn't chosen as Best Answer.
Someone asked what a particular episode of CSI was called and I knew it. Only me and one other person answered it. The other person answered w/ "I think I saw that one but can't remember what it's called, sorry" and I answered w/ the name and everything. Her answer was chosen as best and I even looked mine up to make sure...it shocked me but didn't make me mad or anything.

I've gotten Best Answers for some that I thought my Answer was Piss Poor. Yeah, it shocked me, and I didn't feel I Deserved it, but I'll take them.
Of course there are Answers that you felt were good, and they don't get Best Either. You take the Good with the Bad.

Yes, I have been surprised. Some of them were choosen by the people themselves and others were voted on and just happened to be the first answer.

Yes! Yesterday I answered the question,"Is Kurt Russell Hispanic?" with a simple "No"....The asker chose mine as best answer and then proceeded to unleash the vilest tirade of verbal abuse I have ever witnessed! And the best answer should have gone to another who supplied many details! You should go into my answers and read what this one said. It'll curl your toenails!!! Lol!!!

Several times... I have even insulted the asker and still received 'best'. People are unpredictable.
