I think much is missed when the destination or goal is mostly on the mind. Enjoying the journey is so important.

Just take a train ride...look out the windows...all the passing scenery and cute little towns, people living their lives, working, playing...

To concentrate on the destination, reading brochures, looking at maps, etc. looking to a future (that may not even happen!) is missing a very 'alive' present. Much is missed in life when we are not aware of what is happening right now!

Absolutely...no doubt in my mind, the journey is essential, it is the most important.
You see, when we begin we have a clear destination in mind. Along the way we experience, learn, grow, change, find, lose, gather, give away. We become, not so much different, as more; more enlightened, knowledgable, deeper...and the destination? Well, sometimes we find that we step off the original, continue the journey, with a different destination to pursue.
So, the journey IS!

It is all a journey. Even the destination is just another journey. The destination may ask us questions. The journey is where we gather the answers so that we may be ready to meet those questions.

The journey of course
Take for example my sailboat. I can sail between 4 and 8 nudes or mph but a powerboat can reach 30 mph easily. Many peoples prefer the power boats because they reach faster the destination. I choose to sail because the adventure and the freedom of sailing is more important than the destination. Anyway if you are in storm in which boat do you want to be?
