Their are many types of wrist splints, depending on how the problem is affecting you. I have the usual three quarter length of the arm and up around the thumb type, because my fingers are fine, but the thumb plays up. Some people have them specially molded for sleeping, again to immobilize the wrist and fingers, thumb. However it is not advisable to wear a splint continuously, otherwise the muscle will atrophy, weaken.
