Do you have a *good* degree? Experience? Are you looking for jobs the right way (really applying yourself, not just sending a few Monster replies every week)? Is your resume any good? How about your cover letter? Are you looking in the right industry?
Don't move until you get an offer, silly. You can apply to jobs from right where you are, and if you're lucky you'll even get paid relocation. People without contacts always say that networking gets jobs, while people with contacts always complain about experience/resumes...there's no magic way to get a job, just keep applying. It's draining, but it gets easier as you go on....

You are looking in the wrong places and applying for the wrong jobs. The competition is all on the bottom because, unlike you, most people don't have college degrees. At all. The easiest way to take a stack of 300 applications and turn it into 30 applications is to put the words "4 year degree required" somewhere. If nothing else, you can always work a management job in retail or fast food. Quit applying for the fry hopper and competing with high school students. Yeah, I feel bad doing it too, but it's part of why you went to school to begin with. If you don't have your bachelors yet, you should try for an internship. No, it's not payed, and no, these days it doesn't lead to a permanent position. But it does get your name and face out there and it means you can make friends with people who CAN get you jobs. Because even though 30 applications is way less than 300, 5 in 30 odds still suck, and four of those 5 jobs are going to friends of people that already work where you're applying.

There are no jobs there, either. The mid west is about the only decent place left to live, sadly. The economy is OK here and you can afford to buy a house and live in it, too. People are flocking here like crazy.
