Even if you're out of the closet, sometimes they ask.

(And the most rude ones ask the question right in front of your current partner.)

the reaction i propose is "to hug the relative tightly and whisper in the ear - thanks for caring".

I'm out to all of my family... the only person who continually asks me when I'm going to get a girlfriend or get married is my Aunt. She's mentally retarded and keeps forgetting that I'm gay, but I don't think she really knows what that means anyway. So I just answer, "I don't know Aunt Bonnie, I haven't found the right girl yet." =) She's a sweetheart.

I actually have two daughtrs, so that isn't an issue.

The strangest part though was when my mother was talking to me about my pending SRS. She couldn't understand why I would want this as she was under the impression that I wouldn't be able to have sex. When I explained that I could, she looked quite pained.

Such is life.

When someone asks me a personal question ,I answer back with a question like "Why is this so important to you? I do not reply to there question, just look them in the eye,and if I have to, just walk away

How fortunate I must have been. My mother accepted and loved us both. My Brother and his wife and family were the same.
Gwenneth's family hated us far too much to ask such a basic question.

No one in my family would ask such a stupid question being that I'm pretty much out. Would be nice if they asked that about a same sex marriage. My family ain't that rude!

I tell them I haven't met the right guy yet, but I am still looking..then ask them if they know of anyone who is really hot, really built, and really hung. That usually gets the conversation headed in a different direction. ... Quickly. !

I dunno, I'm trying to figure out because I'm thinking about going to see my family in Portugal, and it would mean maybe telling them. So I dunno.

If someone knows though it's simple, I'd just say "well she'd never make me happy, and I'd never make her happy, I'd rather be gay and happy than straight and miserable. So why do you want me to be miserable just so you can be comfortable? Won't you be happier if I'm happy?"

Sort of a big slap across the face in a way. Verbal face-slap.

I've yet to have that question asked, but if I did have it happen about, I'd just look at them and ask "Are you serious?"

My Mum is still in denial about my sexuality...I think she'd be afraid to ask that question...

I don't have a real strong relationship with any of my relatives, so I would just say "I like dick... If you have a problem with it, that is too bad." Like I said, that is just me.
