since x+2 is a binomial it cant be broken up. the 2 must be multiplied by x+2 then, so the lcd is 2(x+2).

lcd= least common denominator?
usually that's a term used with fractions. there are not fractions here. My guess is that the lcd is 1. Are you sure you have the question right?

Presuming you mean least common denominator, and x is an integer, the highest value is 2 * (x+2). It could be lower than that, but that depends on x.
