i just saw the answer to this on the news ! they used a rotoscope that traces the original and then projects it in any invironment celine had to practice solo then with a elvis double who had the "moves" down and at the end the double talked to celine it was a big process cool huh?

What we saw on T.V. was old footage that they used to make it look like he was really singing next to Celine. What Ryan was talking about was that there was a guy on the "real" stage with Celine that was an Elvis look a like and what we saw on T.V. was video footage of Elvis. Basically the guy onstage at american idol was pretty much a stunt double and we never saw his face.

LOL! Um...actualy, i think that it wasn't a real person who looked like elvis, but, it was computerized...! :D And so, i think celine performed by herself, and then recorded it with a computerized thing, and so, i think they showed it as a video clip..because it would be impossible to find an elvis look alike who had the exact same voice...LOL! :D

It was really Elvis. They took an old video of one of his preformances & photo shopped it to put whats her face in it. Its like something done infront of a green screen. thats why they only showed a video of it, & they didn't preform it live.
Pretty convincing though, huh?
